Lauren Michael Holly was born October 28, 1963 and is a celebrated American-Canadian actress. She rose to fame as Deputy Sheriff Maxine Stewart in the Emmy-winning series Picket Fences (1992-1996). Her breakout film role came in Dumb and Dumber (1994), opposite Jim Carrey. Holly portrayed Linda Lee Cadwell in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (1993). She later joined NCIS as Director Jenny Shepard (2005-2008).

In Motive, she played Dr. Betty Rogers. Born in Bristol, Pennsylvania, to professors Grant and Michael Ann Holly, she grew up in Geneva, New York. Holly studied at Sarah Lawrence College. She credits her great-grandmother’s theater legacy for her passion. Her career began at 20 on Hill Street Blues. She starred in All My Children (1986-1989). Holly’s diverse roles span comedies, dramas, and thrillers. She became Canadian in 2008. Today, she resides in Ontario with her family. Her talent shines in indie films too.
